What Is Dahua TiOC 2.0?
For those who don’t have experience with the TiOC range, let’s explore what it offers and why it’s such a popular series of products.
TiOC stands for ‘Three-In-One-Camera’ and consists of active deterrence, full colour and intelligent AI. These three technologies are summarised below:
- Active Deterrence: Provides red and blue sirens combined with audio alerts triggered by entry into a pre-selected zone in order to deter intruders from entering property or an area.
- Full Colour: Provides a white light to illuminate the scene at night in order to show a 24/7 full colour image as if it were daytime, along with a large aperture lens to let in more light.
- WizSense AI: Provides intelligent AI features such as facial detection and false alarm reduction.
The above features combine to provide an extremely efficient method of deterring intruders, as well as storing data about them (which is extremely useful for later analysis) as well as a fantastic false alarm reduction rate. It’s no surprise then, that the flagship TiOC range continues to be an extremely popular series of cameras.
TiOC’s are available as turret or bullet cameras.
How Does TiOC 2.0 Improve On The Original TiOC Series?
Now you know how the base functionality of the original TiOC’s, let’s explore how that’s been improved upon by Dahua.
Smart Dual Illuminators
The white light that illuminates the scene and provides full colour images is naturally very bright. At first, this seems like a great idea; why wouldn’t your customer want the light to illuminate the scene as brightly as possible?
However, one thing that was not considered (at least for the UK market where our houses are very close together) is that the white light also illuminated neighbour’s property and some customers may have received complaints that their camera’s light is on all night.
So, for TiOC 2.0, the clever people at Dahua have now changed this functionality. Initially, when darkness falls, the camera will now automatically switch to the infrared, grayscale image – similar to Dahua’s Starlight technology. Only when an intruder or vehicle enters the monitored area, will the white light illuminate the scene and provide full colour. A welcome addition for your customers (and a reason to go back and install the new version!)
VoiceCatcher Technology
TiOC 2.0 now features a dual microphone array which provides a few improvements. Firstly, audio pickup has been increased by 7 meters, meaning customers can hear an intruder speaking at the bottom of their garden, for example. As well as this, VoiceCatcher finds unwanted noise in the audio waveform and reduces it (e.g. wind, rustling of trees, motorway sound) to provide a crystal clear representation.
Optical Path Technology
OPC, or Optical Path Technology, corrects the refraction angle of different light paths to provide much clearer black and white images. Combined with a larger f1.0 aperture lens, the resulting image is brighter. As well as this, the TiOC 2.0 cameras can smooth 4K real-time images to enhance the picture.
One Tap Disarming
TiOC 2.0 cameras provide the ability to turn off the audio warning and siren lights with a single tap on your customer’s device.
SMD 3.0 & Perimeter Protection
Using the latest in WizSense technology, TiOC 2.0 cameras can detect objects or people at a much further distance, with a much higher detection accuracy all with reduced false alarms (from animals, for example).
Product Range
As mentioned, TiOC cameras are available as turrets and bullets. Now, Dahua have released a PTZ (Pan, Tilt, Zoom) version that includes auto tracking of targets, including cars travelling at speed.
All in all, there’s a lot of great new features to get excited about within TiOC 2.0 range and while the original TiOC’s will continue to be a flagship series, if your customers require the latest technology, TiOC 2.0 is a fantastic choice, improving on an already superb series.
